Lautus Chicago Antiques' mission flows from our founder's passion for European history. We are committed to bringing high quality, unique European pieces to the American market and preserving the original techniques used by master furniture makers.

Specializing in European furniture from the 17th through 19th centuries as well as traditional restorative techniques using natural shellac, Lautus Chicago Antiques fills a unique niche in the region's antique market.

Throughout his seventeen years in the industry, Lautus Chicago Antiques' founder, Krys Chrostowski, has maintained a focus on preserving historical authenticity and achieving excellence in the art of furniture making. He is certified as an antique expert by the University of Arts in Hamburg, Germany. He has garnered recognition throughout Europe for his extensive experience and impeccable technique in restoring, authenticating, and valuing antiques. Among his many accolades, he was selected as the sole contractor for the restoration of furniture at Berlin’s largest museum of baroque artifacts, Schloss Charlottenburg Palace.
